Conversation between Dusty, an Australian shepherd mix, and Lizzie, an Australian cattle dog – Part 8: The argument.

Lizzie: “What is that?”

Dusty: “My bone.”

“Your bone?”

“My bone.”

“No. My bone.”

“No. Mine.”

“I want it.”

“You have a bone.”

“Yes, I have a bone.”

“That is your bone.”

“This is my bone.”

“And this is my bone.”

“That is my bone too.”

“No.”

“Yes.”

“I am getting angry.”

“Yes, you are.”

“My lip is curling up.”

“It is.”

“I am showing my teeth.”

“I see your teeth.”

“Now I am growling.”

“I hear your growl.”

“Leave me alone or I will hurt you.”

“I want that bone.”

“Stay away or I will growl louder.”

“I want that bone.”

“It is my bone.”

“I will take it now.”

“Stay back!”

“!”

“!”

“I have your bone.”

“You have my bone.”

“I wanted your bone.”

“You have my bone.”

“You are hurt.”

“I am hurt.”

“?”

“I am hurt.”

“I smell something.”

“I am angry.”

“I smell blood.”

“I am scared.”

“Let me see.”

“Stay away.”

“Let me help.”

“Stay away.”

“I am sorry.”

“I am hurt.”

“I am sorry.”

“My neck. My ear.”

“I am sorry.”

“Stay away. I am sick.”

“You are bleeding.”

“I am going to my safe spot.”

“I will stay here.”

“I will wait in my safe spot for the Food Man.”

“Wait.”

“He will help.”

“I am sorry.”

“He always helps.”

“I only wanted your bone.”

“Have my bone.”
